German course

The activation and placement voucher (AVGS) is a funding programme offered by the Federal Employment Agency and job centres. The legal basis is § 45 SGB III (Third Social Security Code). The voucher entitles you to participate in a programme run by an approved provider MAT (AVGS-MAT). Colón is AZAV-certified and recognised as an approved provider for AVGS-MAT.

Contents Your private lessons are individually agreed with you
Reactivation and expansion of (any) existing vocabulary including grammar
Building and expanding work-related vocabulary (individually tailored to specific sectors, e.g. the fields of health and social services, trade, hospitality, transport, warehousing/logistics, or topic-specific areas such as finance and accounting, human resources, procurement, sales and marketing, projects, etc.)
Competence: reading comprehension (including work-/subject-specific texts)
Competence: listening comprehension and speaking (including following speeches and discussions, holding conversations, small talk)
Competence: written expression and correspondence in line with current standards: letter writing, quotations, reports, invoices, presentations, notes, faxes, emails, etc., making appointments
Competence: oral expression: reducing language barriers through authentic situations with – special features when applying for jobs in the foreign language being learned, practising telephone interviews and job interviews

Course objective
The aim is to prepare you for the training and job market or to identify, reduce or eliminate so-called placement obstacles through targeted, individually tailored private lessons in German (as a foreign language).

Completion
After successful participation, you will receive a Colón certificate of attendance stating the course content, scope and achieved language level. Each individual course also concludes with a Colón and a telc language examination at your level.

Course duration / times
The course duration is tailored to your need for support in the target language and comprises a maximum of 160 teaching hours in private lessons within a maximum of 8 weeks. The dates are arranged and agreed individually in advance.
